21-260: Lecture Notes

During the first few weeks of the semester we will be jumping around in the textbook quite a bit. In order to give a more coherent presentation, I've written up these notes. They are definitely "rough around the edges," but I think they will be useful, especially to read over after attending the lectures.

Well, I guess not. I'd like to, but it is a great deal of work. I wrote these mostly to smooth out the presenatation. I jump around quite a bit for the first few weeks of the semester - Actually, from my point of view, the textbook jumps around. I, of course, follow a logical progression of ideas. The notes are written to help you see that progression of ideas in those first few lectures.
